Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of ChartBase for your use of the service. By creating an account you accept them.

ChartBase is an independently operated software service, run as a sole proprietorship.

1. The service

ChartBase is a browser-based analytics workspace: you connect or upload data, model it, build dashboards, and share them. We provide it on a continuing basis and may add, change, or remove features as it develops.

2. Your account

You must give accurate registration details and keep your password secure. You are responsible for everything done under your account. Tell us promptly at info@chartbase.io if you believe it has been compromised.

You must be at least 16 years old, and able to enter a binding contract.

3. Your data stays yours

You keep all rights to the data you upload, connect, or create in ChartBase. We claim no ownership of it.

You grant us only the licence we need to actually run the service for you: to store, process, transform, and display your data so we can render your dashboards, and to transmit it to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy. That licence exists for operating the product and nothing else — we do not use your data to train models, to build other products, or for advertising. It ends when you delete the data.

One exception you control: if you publish a dashboard to the community gallery, you grant us and the public the right to display that published copy for as long as it stays published.

4. What you may not do

You agree not to:

  • Upload data you do not have the right to use, or connect a database without permission
  • Upload special-category data the service is not built for — health records, government identifiers, or payment card numbers. We are not HIPAA- or PCI-certified
  • Break the law, infringe intellectual property, or violate anyone's privacy
  • Attempt to access another user's data, probe or bypass access controls, or circumvent rate limits and quotas
  • Use the database connector to reach hosts you do not control, or to scan internal networks
  • Resell or redistribute the service as your own product
  • Upload malware, or deliberately disrupt the service for others

Community submissions are reviewed before publication, and we may decline or remove any submission at our discretion.

5. Sharing and embedding

You control who can see your dashboards. Some settings expose them widely — an unlisted link works for anyone holding it, an embed token grants read access wherever it is placed, and a community submission is public. Choosing those settings is your decision, and you are responsible for what you expose through them.

6. Availability

We aim to keep ChartBase available and working, but we do not currently offer a contractual uptime guarantee or service-level agreement. We may take the service down for maintenance, and will give notice where we reasonably can.

7. Fees, billing and refunds

Where a plan is paid, the price, billing period, and included limits are those shown at purchase and on our pricing page. Fees are payable in advance. We will give reasonable notice before a price change and you may cancel rather than accept it.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries and handles returns. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms, and applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated and shown at checkout.

You may cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period already paid for. Purchases may be refunded within 14 days of the transaction, and we consider refunds beyond that on their merits — the Refund Policy sets out both in full and forms part of these terms.

8. Ending the agreement

You may stop using ChartBase and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that we are legally required to act against, or that is causing harm to the service or other users — with notice where circumstances allow.

Export your data before you delete your account. Deletion removes your datasets, dashboards, and stored files, and we cannot undo it.

9. Warranties

ChartBase is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Said plainly: ChartBase computes numbers from the data you give it, and you are responsible for checking that the results are right before relying on them for a decision. That goes double for output from the AI features, which produce suggestions that can be confidently wrong.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose, or the equivalent of US$100 if you are on a free plan.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. For material changes we will notify account holders by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the new terms; if you do not, you may close your account.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Jordan, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory laws in your country of residence.
