Collaborators and roles

Inviting people, and the difference between a viewer and an editor.

Invite people to a dashboard by email address.

The two roles

  • Viewer — can open and interact: filter, slice, drill, export. Cannot change the dashboard.
  • Editor — can change it: edit visuals, add pages, change the model.

Invitations

Someone who already has an account gets access immediately and a link straight to the dashboard. Someone who does not gets an invitation that is consumed when they register, so their first sign-in lands them where they were invited.

Revoking

Removing a collaborator revokes access immediately, along with any row-security group membership they had.

Owner

The owner is the person who created it. Owners always see everything and are never affected by row-level security — which is what makes previewing another group's view useful rather than confusing.
