Collaborators and roles
Inviting people, and the difference between a viewer and an editor.

The two roles
- Viewer — can open and interact: filter, slice, drill, export. Cannot change the dashboard.
- Editor — can change what the dashboard shows: edit and arrange visuals, build measures, and save.
Adding data, adding or removing pages, sharing, row security and deleting the dashboard stay with the owner.
Extras you can grant an editor
Each editor has their own switches, set per person under Share → Access:
- Model — relate tables to each other, so charts can span them. On by default.
- Theme — change the dashboard's colours and fonts. Off by default.
- Snapshots — take and restore restore points. Off by default.
- AI — generate pages and measures with AI. On by default.
AI spends your credits, not theirs. The work happens on your dashboard and the result stays in it, so the owner is billed — an editor never needs their own subscription to help build. Your credit history records which collaborator ran each generation, and if your allowance runs out they are told the owner has reached their limit rather than being asked to upgrade an account they do not own.
Row security is never delegated
An editor can change what a dashboard shows. They can never change who sees which rows — an editor who could edit row rules could grant themselves every row, which would undo the feature by way of the person it constrains.
Invitations
Someone who already has an account gets access immediately and a link straight to the dashboard. Someone who does not gets an invitation that is consumed when they register, so their first sign-in lands them where they were invited.
Revoking
Removing a collaborator revokes access immediately, along with any row-security group membership they had.
Owner
The owner is the person who created it. Owners always see everything and are never affected by row-level security — which is what makes previewing another group's view useful rather than confusing.
